NOTE: Library will not be open Sunday, February 5 except to those participating in the tournament. Regular library services and materials will not be available on this date.

The Sharon Library Free Chess Tournament is a free scholastic chess tournament for children in grades K-12. Trophies awarded to the top players in each section. NOTE: We are limited in space for this event. It is necessary for each player to pre-register online in order to participate. This tournament is sponsored by the Southeast New England Chess Association and the Sharon Public Library. Online registration closes on February 3, 2023, or when we hit capacity for the venue (for this venue, that is 50 participants).

On site check in for those who registered online is 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM. Those who do not check in by 9:45 AM may be withdrawn from the tournament. Round 1 starts at 10:00 AM. Others on completion of each round. Novice and Unrated sections may finish in the early afternoon around 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Open and U700 sections should end around 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
